Ancora features
When we think of a precious object, we think of something in which man has managed to blend his extraordinary creativity with his best manual dexterity. Ancora belives this to be real value, not only of a pen, but of any precious product. Cellini casts, Michelangelo sculptures and Leonardo paintings are marvelous examples of how matter becomes, through man’s creativity and manual dexterity, unique and, at its highest expression, works of art. Ancora treasures this philosophy, paying great attention to special features and, most of all, the values of that most perfect of creative machines, the human hand, an unreachable goal for mass production manufacturers.
Masters of this ancient art work of precious sea shells to adapt them in different ways to the Ancora pen barrel.
Ancora has designed its own models, bringing to life a style embodying three basic elements wherein lie the history of fountain pen: the innovative know-how in the special type of filling mechanism, the precious material used (ebonite, gold, silver) and, most importantly, the entirely hand-made production of the barrel in mother-of-pearl.

Various strips, around 50 mm. long (1,97 inches), without the least space between them, or an infinite amount of thiny splinters not more than a few millimeters each, are selected and put together, piece by piece with extraordinary harmony and perfection in shape and color iridescence.
There are countless working stages which transform the shapless and rough shell into our mother-of-pearl pens production.
